2015 – The Beginning
It so happened that we discovered a very significant problem in the construction market. The problem was that practically all known manufacturers of reinforcement cages in Kyiv at that time (and believe us, we tried all existing options) did not provide proper service to their clients. This was not about the quality of the products themselves, but about promises and actual deadlines for fulfilling orders. Service as such was practically non-existent. None of the manufacturers fulfilled their commitments on time or reliably delivered reinforcement cages to construction sites. The idea of connecting or welding cages on-site was out of the question. Manufacturers would quickly tell you where to go and what to do. The fact that expensive equipment such as concrete pumps, excavators, drilling machines, trailers, and trucks would be idle without cages for piles and foundations did not concern them at all.
We witnessed absurd situations: clients who paid for cage production were bribing factory workers to get their orders completed faster. Yes, in the 21st century! To reduce losses from downtime, clients even took partially loaded machines from factories themselves.
2016 – The Year of Birth
It took some time to find a partner and assemble a team. We decided to start without fully realizing what could happen. We had no financial plans or business strategies. We had heard that some people could produce 60 tons of finished products per month (at the time, it seemed almost impossible). We looked at each other and said that if we worked hard, we could produce 30 tons of spatial reinforcement cages per month. We closed our eyes and moved forward!
Many questions ran through our heads. Could we provide clients with quality service? Could we prevent stoppages and financial losses? On the other side of the scale were our goal and desire — to relieve clients from the headache of cage supply. We understood that by being honest and providing truthful and reliable information, we could build trusting partnerships and achieve our goals.
May – the first cage, nearly reaching 60 tons per month. 59.3 tons. By October, we exceeded 100 tons per month.
2017 – Trying to Stand on Our Own
Everything was as expected at the beginning: we went forward, fell, got up, and went again. Some things worked on their own, some required effort. Minor problems arose, but we handled them. The trend line was rising — quality and number of clients increased, the team grew. Financially, there was room for improvement, but the main thing was that clients genuinely enjoyed working with us. Production and control of product use on the construction site were also organized, allowing us to anticipate when the client would need the next batch and prevent work stoppages.
2018 – Learning Balance
The team continued to grow, with more than 25 people working on the project. Production of cages for bored injection piles reached 177 tons/month. Many business processes were already well established. Growth compared to 2017 was 17%. Product line expanded: cages for bored piles, cast-in-place piles, strip foundations, stairs, balcony railings, air conditioner baskets, and mobile units. Client satisfaction increased.
2019 – Learning to Walk, First Falls
As in any business, failures and disappointments occur. Discrepancies arose, causing a crack in the team. Team composition was reorganized. Like after any fall, we analyzed, improved, became stronger, and moved forward. These setbacks only made us stronger and more confident. A decision was made to rebrand, giving birth to SVEISVERK. Despite internal turbulence, production and service KPIs remained steady.
2020 – COVID-19
The pandemic tested the new team. It introduced challenges but the SVEISVERK team still achieved growth: 11.37% increase in key metrics. Team size grew to over 35. We produced 13,835 cages for pile foundations, completing 6,600,511 welding points. 19 internal production records were set, e.g., 2,323 cages per month and 12.03 tons per shift. Production exceeded 200 tons/month. Client satisfaction and service quality continued to rise.
2021 – Year of Self-Discovery
Medium-term planning and strategy emerged. Production achieved 868,798 welding points per month (28,026 per shift). Work began on the SVEISVERK website, which would take four more years to launch. The team was full of energy and ambition to provide high-quality service. Timely order fulfillment and delivery were ensured to maximize client satisfaction.
2022 – Unplanned Challenges
239 days of downtime. All plans disrupted. The Communications Director left, and part of the production team was lost. Work operated at 20% capacity. Despite challenges like power outages and air alerts, SVEISVERK remained a reliable partner for the most resilient clients. Work volume was low, but orders were fulfilled promptly. Financial year ended with losses, but the company survived.
2023 – Strengthening
Blackouts continued. In H1, the team produced the same volume of spatial cages as in one month of 2021. In H2, orders tripled compared to H1. Production supervisor drafted into the military. 134 days of downtime without orders. Most metrics dropped, but on-time order fulfillment and client satisfaction remained high.
2024 – Stability
Project leader with strong determination manages all communications, production processes, and finances. Clients continue to receive timely and high-quality metalwork services. No construction downtime due to missing cages or metal structures. Production volumes grew slowly; 79 days of downtime recorded, but with a new experienced Production Director, efficiency and service quality reached a new level.
2025 – Strengthening
10th year of the project, and the website was finally launched. New quality control standards implemented. Preparations for increased production capacity underway. More updates and news available in the “News” section of our website.
